“The Carnival’s Ended” (South Atlantic Blues)
My Dear Friends,
The end of Carnival, and the Sunday Morning that follows has ALWAYS had a powerfully melancholy effect on me. I wrote “The Carnival Is Ended” in 1965-66 and recorded if for the “South Atlantic Blues” album in 1967 (The wonderful Pan Man is the incomparable Victor Brady from St. Croix) The Album was released in 1968.
Today is again the day after Carnival and I know that I am not the only one feeling as I do. Consequently, and with all the love and empathy in the world, this is for you, this is for me, this is for us, this is for we. XOXOXO!
